From the Chair!!

See a message from Chairman Jim Crossley here…

Hi all

The coming season will be soon upon us, a new season, a new coach, same vision for the future, success on and off the field.

Firstly, the committee would like to acknowledge two stalwarts of the club, Dave ‘Macca’ McLeod and Tristan ‘Trip’ Glover.
They have represented the club at the highest level both on and off the field, their contribution whilst serving on the executive committee can never be understated.
Their commitment to the club will forever stand as the benchmark for current and future members of the committee.
Whilst Macca has retired from all duties within the club, Trip has stepped down as Chairman and A grade captain, but has been appointed to run Cricket Operations within the club, so he will still be involved behind the scenes and will play on!

Andre D’ Souza has taken to the role of secretary like a duck to water and will be a tremendous asset to the club, I as new chairman will “get there” with guidance from others.

As has been reported Tim Hart has been appointed the new coach for the coming season.
Tim’s qualifications and experience across many sports stands him in good stead to lead the club to the success we all crave, I personally will look forward to working with Tim at training and hopefully provide all the assistance he requires to ensure he can concentrate on coaching as he feels will benefit captains, players and teams across the club.

The social committee, headed by Patto and Dozer, promises to create a social calendar for all, young and “old”, players, non-playing members, partners and friends alike. As always this is an important and an essential part of the season, not just financially, but as a bonding tool for all members of the club so please support these two keen clubmen’s efforts.

Captains for the season have been appointed.

Ryan Bone will captain the club’s A grade side for the first time.
“Boney” has had a remarkable record as a player in his relatively short time at the club, and we are confident he will succeed in his new role.

Rohan (Rowey) Way will again lead the B grade. A newly recognised life member, Rowey is a great communicator and mentor on and off the field, and will always combine these skills to ensure he gets the best from all players.

Michael Paterson will take “full” control of the C grade side after serving his “apprenticeship” under Macca for the early part of last season. It has been a steady learning curve for Patto who blossomed under Macca’s tutelage and we are sure he is again up to the job.

Darren Hortop has again agreed to take on one of the most thankless, (but no less important), jobs in the club when he steps out as the captain of our 4th side competing in the Limited Overs Comp. Beep is a legend of the club and there is nothing I could write here that has not already been well documented!!

The pre-season training sessions are underway and we’ve seen some good numbers. A perfect opportunity to introduce yourself to Tim, the sooner he gets to know you, and you know him can only be a benefit to all.

As always it is a responsibility of all wishing to play at Fulham CC to ensure your subscriptions
are paid ASAP, our club depends on the payment of these fees to provide the best playing and training facilities in the ATCA.
Fees and payment structures remain the same as last season, visit the clubs website for details and contact numbers for the captains and committee, full preseason schedule and fixture for the coming season.

The committee wishes all the best to everyone within the club for the coming season and I look forward to seeing you at training

Jim Crossley
