FULHAM 191 ( Hortop 38, K Adcock 40, Ritchie 32) lost to REYNELLA 201 ( Hughes 4/28)

Another one day game for the A`s after rain again wreaked havoc, once we did get some cricket in we batted first on a wicket that had a little bit of juice in it and lost our openers early on. Darren `Beep` Hortop and Paul ` Polly` Roberts then showed their experience knuckling down to get us back on top. Polly made 26 and Beep 38 as we started to get back into the game, after a few more wickets fell it was Kyle ` Spesh` Adcock who got his mojo back with the bat making a classy 40, he looked good straight away and was well supported by Craig ` Spirit` Ritchie whose 32 was scratchy to begin with but he got going late in his innings and formed a crucial part of the 81 run partnership with Kyle that gave us something to defend, Will `Alfie` Roberts played a few nice shots in the final overs helping us to 191.

We bowled okay from the outset but as the wicket had flattened out their batsmen got off to a good start. It was young spinner Alex `Fluffy` Hughes who bowled brilliantly and got us back in the game, his final figures of 4/28 off 10 were just reward for what was a great spell, he had the first four wickets taken and especially for a spinner that was a great effort. We didnt field too well, more so our ground fielding and it cost us several runs in the end. Reynella passed us 7 down with the only late highlight being Craig `Spirit` Ritchie`s 1/0 in a first class display of two ways swing bowling ( he told me to say that)
We hung around for a meal and a few drinks with their guys in a scene from the old days, which probably should happen more often.

We are back at home this week vs Hope Valley and desperately need a win to regain our momentum that we had up until December.

FULHAM 164 ( Rhodes 39, Cummins 42 n.o, Nash 37) tied GOLDEN GROVE 164 ( Thyer 7/41, Nash 2/32)

It was another near miss for the B grade who battled hard at home versus Golden Grove. Our bowlers had first use of a slightly rain affected wicket and made good early inroads. Dave `Pedro` Thyer and Mark ` Oracle` Nash worked well together with Pedro cleaning up the top order, he came back later in the day to finish with the brilliant figures of 7/41 off 23 and storming to the top of the B grade bowling honours in the process. Nashy was miserly at the other end and bowled without any luck at all until tea. He also bowled a few overs after that to end up with 2/32 off 26 which was a great contribution to the team, Sammy ` Wilson` Johnson also bowled a tidy spell as did Jeffrey ` Jonty` Rhodes who got a go late in the day.
We had them in all sorts of trouble but had a flat spot after tea, not helped by a batsmen standing his ground after edging one. 164 to chase was going to make for an interesting days cricket on day 2.

Early wickets fell during the chase but one guy who stood tall was Jeffrey ` Jonty ` Rhodes who had his first go at opening the batting this year, he values his wicket and has a few not outs too his credit this season. We crawled to 3/51 at tea but with blokes in the shed we had a good foundation, Jonty was eventually dismissed for 39 which may have been a few more if the outfield wasnt so tough to get value for shots, a great partnership then followed that seemingly would get us to our first win, Nashy made 37 before being run out showing his capabilities with the bat in tough conditions, and Shaun ` Cracky` Cummins batted well to finish on 42 n.o , they had put on a 72 run partnership. We lost 3 wickets to run outs and played a batsman short so really we should have won this match, the final wicket was a run out in the last over when the scores were tied. The lads were pretty down after the game and `The Falcon` hopes they can get a deserved win away this week to Gepps Cross who are in a similar position on the table.

C2

FULHAM 5/168 ( McLeod 24, Kilpatrick 35, Jeffries 32, Cantley 21 n.o, Luko 36 n.o) defeated outright HECTORVILLE 45 ( Butler 4/20, Luko 2/22, J Abbott 2/3) and 36 ( Davoli 4/6, Butler 2/9,Crossley 3/11)

The C Grade had a comprehensive outright win over Hectorville. Bowling first we rolled them for just 45 with Dave `Butsy` Butler taking 4/20 with his usual swing and faultless line and length, Rob ` Luko` Lukosius chimed in with 2/22 and Jack Abbott is back and firing after a long injury , he took 2/3 and he is a good young bowler. We didnt have many to chase and were looking to set up a lead and secure outright points.

With the bat we had an even contribution across the board with several players scoring well, Macca 24 and Killer 35 at the top and then followed up by CJ 32, Simon Cantley 21 n.o and the big fella Luko with 36 n.o including a six that landed not far from the main oval`s centre wicket. Finishing the day at 5/168 a lead of 123 ,Killer decided to declare and have a crack at the opposition first thing on Day 2.

In the second innings it was groundhog day and we went through them quickly, this time for just 36. Joe ` Italian Stallion` Davoli took 4/6 with his off spinners, Butsy took 2/9 and Lyndon ` Wildman` Crossley picked up 3/11 we also saw Dave`s son Jason who was playing also take 1/0 off 1 to ensure it wasn`t all about Dad at the dinner table that night. A comprehensive victory that has earnt us over 20 points for the game and we sit a close second going into the last few games. The C`s look very strong and `The Falcon` has high hopes for them.

LOC
FULHAM 83 ( Brister 27) lost to MAWSON LAKES 2/89

Our One Dayers slipped out of the top four after an average game against Mawson Lakes. Batting first we only managed a paltry 83 with the Neil Craig lookalike Mick Brister making a brisk 27, unfortunately there wasnt much if anything after that with only one other score in double figures.

So with a small score to defend we needed early wickets and whilst we got one we also had a batsman hitting us around a bit and the small score was reigned in by the opposition very easily, a wicket each to Pete Dinedios and Mick Brister. The lads are a game off fourth with a fairly tough road home so hopefully we can get a few wins and get on a roll as there are several good players in that side.
