Vale Peter ‘Zulu’ May

The Fulham Cricket Club wish to acknowledge the recent sad passing of former player, committee member, club Secretary and life member, Peter May.
Peter, or ‘Zulu’ as many of us knew him, joined the club as a junior player in 1978-79. He made his senior debut the following season and was a member of the club’s C grade premiership of 1980-81. A dashing and stylish right-hand batsman and sharp fieldsman, Peter made his A grade debut for the club the following season and played A grade for much of the 1980s. Peter’s weekend work in the hospitality industry meant his playing for the club became less frequent after this time, although he still made occasional appearances in lower grades through the 1990s. He was a regular member of the management committee from the 1980s onwards and in 1994-95 served as club secretary. He was awarded life membership of the club in 1994. He was a popular member of the club and despite health issues in recent times, was the inaugural [‘number one’] member of the club’s past player and supporter group, the Fulham Faithful when it formed in 2019-20.
The club passes on its condolences to Peter’s family and friends on this sad occasion.
Rest in Peace, Zulu.
